I went back to bed for a few hours but not near as long as she did.

I would like to be able to work from home sometimes. I think it could be fun. Though I'm not sure how productive I would be.

Very cold this week. Have to bundle up.

yeah, ok, I can see that.
some occupations can be done from just about anywhere, some can only be done at the place of business (it would be difficult to say offer fries with that if you are at home).

had some errands to run today, dammmmmn its cold! (was outside for like 1/2 hour and my checks are, well, I wont need any blush for many days--not that I use makeup, now I have that 'healthy color in my checks' that my doctor and such were always harping about).

Just got back from running errands. Wife is supposed to be out of town this weekend so I picked up some things for me to eat this weekend.

lol Nope. Leftovers actually. I got stuff for us to make pizza tonight, so that leaves me with leftover pizza and meatballs as well. I can make pasta so I'm set there.

She is basically better from her cold, but now she has a pulled muscle in her back. So at the moment she just can't win.

yeah pasta is pretty easy (and tastes ok even if its overcooked); making chili tonight--seems like a good answer to a cold day.--and since I am not really capable of making just 2 servings, we, too, will be having a wee bit o' leftovers for the next day (or two)....chili tastes good the next day too.

I've been watching her and she has been taking it pretty easy. Plus I think the heating pad has been helping.

Well I do have work today. So this has been a weird week. School Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. But not on Tuesday or Thursday. Even weirder for every other school since they had Monday off for MLK Jr. Day.

next week will probably be more of the same--they are expecting temps on monday and tuesday to be new record lows! (good thing today was the day my car went in to get a new battery--hope it starts next week)....have NO plans to leave my warm blankees until next wednesday (will be looking for an additional one for monday and tuesday!!).

and remember folks, in windchills -15 and below it only takes a few minutes to get frostbite!!! wear warm clothes, hat and gloves if you have to be out in that kind of conditions (oh sound like my mom

yeah windy--had to go out and run errands again, felt colder...have some to do tomorrow as well, and then am on a blanket hunt!
another 2 days off? that would make for another long year (and its still only january--february is usually colder than january!).
oy not looking forward to the rest of this winter.

It is already going to be a long semester. If we have 2 more days off then we have hit 5 days snow days for the year. What that means is we get no Fridays off after Easter. They make our "spring break" into Fridays that follow Easter. So if we use a snow day, we lose a Friday off. We lost all of our Fridays last year and it looks like it will be more of the same this year. From what I understand though, if we use those 5, any following that will be considered Act of God days, and thus we won't have to make those days up.

Almost got hit today in a grocery parking lot, idiot looked right, but not left (at the incoming traffic which had NO stop sign), and then proceeded to drive into my path, good thing I still have reflexes and swerved out of the way

lots of schools here closed tomorrow--temps are already dropping and we might hit 0 tomorrow! /sad-cold-panda

Welp add another day off to the list. Looking like tomorrow might be more of the same. So bring on more snow days! Won't have any Fridays off so might as well use more snow days to make up for it.

Wife tried to make it home last night from her parents, which is 3 hours away. About an hour after she left her mom called me and told me to touch base with her (since IL has a no cell phones while driving unless you are using a bluetooth headset law, she couldn't call me, I had to call her). So I called her and she tells me that it is pretty much white-out conditions. So I had to find her a hotel, the closest of which was 30 miles away. It took her and hour and a half to get there since she was doing about 10 on the interstate. And they kept stopping. Definitely a nerve-racking time for both of us... She made it safely to the hotel and stayed the night there. She is now on her way home from there... So that was most of my night. Just glad she didn't end up in a ditch.

glad she made it to a hotel---there was a huge pileup in Indiana the other day--like 40 cars/semis because of the blowing snow, so it can be extremely bad to drive in that (sister said they were closing roads out by her the other day as well). Good time to stay inside and keep off of the streets! (though I wouldnt want to be out driving today either--just tooo gosh darn blinkin' cold to be out today!!!)

glad your school is letting you stay home too--NO ONE should have to be out in temps like this!

Ya my dad said something about a big pileup in Indiana. Definitely not conditions I want anyone driving in, especially my wife.

School is letting us stay home today as well. Due to wind chill again. So ya. It is going to be weird when we start having 5 day weeks after having 2 3 day weeks in a row.

yeah, I made hubby stay home again today (even though the car with its new battery did finally start on its own yesterday)...much rather not have extra people out in these temps/windchills!
I think the weather said we might be in the + side today---and in other weather news: alaska has been having record WARM temps (50's!!!!)

they can have their polar air back!

Ya Alaska has been warmer than here for two days now. And it isn't the first time this year that has occurred. They are welcome to have their polar air back. I don't really want it.

Going to be hard to go back to work tomorrow. Luckily it is only a 3 day week now!

weather has just be crazy....snow down in southern georgia too...(more accidents because of it as well)
